About Mountain Mud

Mountain Mud, formally Hometown Trail Days, was the first event of its kind to take place in the beautiful, scenic mountains of McDowell County, West Virginia, in May 2023. This year, Mountain Mud will take place again in the Town of Bradshaw on May 17th, 18th, and 19th,  2024.

Mountain Mud will host multiple ATV/SXS/Dirt Bike events which include:

  • Poker Run
  • Parade
  • Mud Events
    • Dirt bike/ATV/SXS drag races
    • Dirt bike/ATV/SXS grudge matches
    • ATV/SXS Obstacle course
    • Human Mud run 

Last year was so much fun, and the event exceeded all of our expectations.

This year, we will be adding a few events to Mountain Mud. Events that will be added to Saturday include:

  • Human Obstacle Course —come run through the mud, climb the wall, army crawl and more. Do this as an individual or as a team.
  • Lawn Mower Drag Race — bring your souped up riding mower and race your buddies.
  • Power Wheels Races
  • Remote Control Car Races

This year will also feature a Sunday Funday on May 19th, 2024, for kids age 3 to 12. Bring the kids to run the human mud obstacle course, race their dirt bikes or four wheelers.  All new this year, is the Power Wheels Drag Race.  Soup up your kids power wheels or just let them race them as they are.

On Friday and Saturday,  there will be food vendors and vendors that will have ATV/SXS/Dirt Bike related products at the mud pit. On Sunday, we will invite local churches, non-profit organizations, and sports teams to set up and sell food, drinks, or crafts. There will be no vendor fee on Sunday;  however,  you must register.

This event has been a collaborative effort with the Town of Bradshaw, McDowell County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Brookshier Farm Vacation Rentals, Hillbilly’s Used ATV Parts, Pretty’s Nails Salon, Kathy’s Hair Design and B&O Pallet Items the members of Mountain Mud planning committee. We have all worked diligently to organize events for dirt bike, ATV and SXS enthusiasts to showcase what McDowell County and the Town of Bradshaw have to offer.
