About Mountain Mud

In May 2023, Mountain Mud was the first event of its kind to take place in the beautiful, scenic mountains of McDowell County, West Virginia.  Mountain Mud will, once again, take place in the Town of Bradshaw on July 11th and 12th, 2025. This is the third consecutive year of Mountain Mud. The event is normally held in May, but due to the recent flooding in McDowell County, it was postponed till July.

Mountain Mud will host multiple ATV/SXS/Dirt Bike events which include:

• Parade on Saturday
• Mud Events
  • Dirt bike/ATV/SXS drag races
  • Dirt bike/ATV/SXS grudge matches
  • ATV/SXS Obstacle course

We will have the Human Mud Run race on Friday and Saturday night and the Mud Monster Scavenger Hunt on Saturday.

This year, we will be adding a few events to Mountain Mud. We will have Karaoke on Friday and Saturday night from 5pm to 10pm. We will also feature a Saturday Playday on July 12th, 2025, for kids age 3 to 12. Bring the kids to play the mud games and race their dirt bikes or four wheelers.

Mountain Mud has been a collaborative effort with the Town of Bradshaw, McDowell County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Brookshier Farm Vacation Rentals, Hillbilly’s Used ATV Parts, B&O Pallet Items and the members of Mountain Mud planning committee. We have worked diligently to organize events for dirt bike, ATV and SXS enthusiasts to showcase what McDowell County and the Town of Bradshaw have to offer.
